If you suffer from acid reflux and are considering natural remedies then there are two Internet search phrases that I recommend, the first is apple juice and gerd and the second wwwnatural cure for acid reflux.Although GERD isn’t a serious life threatening disease, if left untreated, it can cause serious damage and complications.

There are a lot of sites which state that they have Acid Reflux Breakthroughs or Treatments which work, the majority of these are useless, but these are worth a look:

  1. Acid Reflux and Diet
  2. Stop Acid Reflux Now

Both IBS and Asthma have been linked to GERD. It is a condition, which causes undigested food and gastric acids to reflux up into the esophagus. The symptoms of GERD include indigestion, heartburn, and a tart taste in your mouth, problems swallowing, hoarseness and a regular cough. Most treatments are based on suppressing acids. This does not get to the underlying cause and may even prolong the symptoms in the future.

An effective way of dealing with these symptoms is to keep a close eye on your diet by keeping a food diary to see what foods aggravate and cause acid reflux.A great deal of research has indicated that using an applejuice cure for acid reflux/GERD will reduce stomach acid. Recent research however goes much deeper. It seems that apples and apple juice are one of the best foods any of us can add to our diet.

One group of researchers discovered that the vitamin C from apples is only accountable for a small percentage of the anti-oxidant activity and that most came from its phytonutrient content. Other research has shown that drinking apple juice increases the production of the essential neurotransmitter acetylcholine in the brain. This is a chemical that sends messages to other nerve cells. This communication is vital for good health throughout the body. The results of the research were based on the equivalent of drinking two glasses of apple juice a day.Applejuice is not only a cure for acid reflux; it is a great cleanser and detoxifier, purifies the blood, liver and is a general tonic. You will also soon see the difference in your skin.

The only problem with apple juice is that it oxidizes very quickly, once it has been juiced. For this reason many recommend adding a little lemon juice or keeping in the refrigerator. Myself, well I prefer to make fresh apple juice and drink immediately as I find it works almost instantly in soothing acid reflux painIf for some reason you do not have apples to make juice for the symptoms of GERD, apple cider vinegar, can be used as an alternative. All you need is a couple of teaspoons of apple cider vinegar to a glass of water.

Many eat a few slices of apple for gastric reflux before retiring to bed at night, as this is often the time when the pain of indigestion and heartburn are experienced.
